Join Society member Paul Wright on another of his ‘gateway to Central London’ walks – this time around Waterloo and Lambeth. Hear about the Old Vic, Waterloo Station, Waterloo East and the Necropolis railway. Learn about the ill-fated Eric Ravilious murals at Morley college and see their successors by Edward Bawden and discover the early days of variety and music hall in Westminster Bridge Road.
Meet at Starbucks on Platform B at Waterloo East station at 10.15 am for this glimpse of a long unloved but fascinating part of London. There is no charge for the walk but a donation of £5 to the Society at the beginning of the walk will be appreciated.
Places are limited so please book your spot via Eventbrite from 1st September. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/blackheath-society-walk-talk-waterloo-and-lambeth-tickets-397193365047
