Blackheath Village Day is held on the first Saturday in December when the main local charities, businesses and representatives of the local councils come together to celebrate the start of the festive season. There is dancing and music culminating in the turning on of the Christmas lights. The Blackheath Society has a central role in the organisation of the day.
