Join us for a lecture by Blackheath resident, architectural historian and curator Dr Neil Bingham celebrating his new book on the modern architect Patrick Gwynne (1913–2003).
Gwynne is known in Blackheath for a number of bespoke houses he built on the Cator Estate, most notably the black fortress-like 10 Blackheath Park; also, his own house, designed in 1938, where he lived his whole life. The Homewood in Esher, Surrey, designed by Gwynne, is now owned by the National Trust and open to the public.
The book Patrick Gwynne will be on sale at the event for the reduced cost of £25 (retail £30). Also, tea towels of Gwynne’s fascinating house plans will also be on sale for £10.
