The History and Collections of a Specialist Image Agency, The Mary Evans Picture Library. A talk by Tom Gillmor.

Tom Gillmor, the Head of Content at the Library will reveal to us this unique Blackheath Village Institution. It is born out of a large private archive which has grown over 60 years into an Internationally renowned archival resource specialising in imagery depicting all aspects of the past. His presentation will include the history of the library and the business, the physical archive, how the librarians work with images, their varied collections and how the picture library industry works and how Mary Evans fits into it.
This is a joint event with Blackheath High School. If you have interesting artifacts that you wish to be considered, or photos of Blackheath in the past that would be of interest, please bring them along to the evening for possible discussion.
Tickets £15 available from Eventbrite, and includes a drink. The talk will be in the gym which has easy access and no steps.
