TURNER’S HOUSE (SANDYCOMBE LODGE)
Join members on a guided tour of this picturesque-cottage style house designed and built by JMW Turner. He was influenced by his friend John Soane and placed the house to over look the Thames. It has an interesting history going from home, to factory to recent restoration to Turner’s home. Our special group tour will be led by guide Catherine Parry-Wingfield whom will tell us all.
Tickets £15 for the group tour with Blackheath Society via Eventbrite link.
(This is a special tour for members and needs to be booked through Eventbrite NOT the Sandycombe Lodge website as that is for visits with no tour.) Please use the above link.
Meet at 11.20 for our tour at 11.30 am at 40 Sandycombe Road. Nearest station is St. Margaret’s, travel from Waterloo. Trains are on the hour and half past. The Lodge does not have a café but there are some near the station.
