Walk & Talk: Society Historic Walk 2021, The North East Corner of the Heath

W&T Blackheath Prep.jpg

Neil Rhind will lead this historic walk along the north and east side of the Heath. He will discuss the buildings from the corner of Vanbrugh Terrace/No 1 Shooters Hill Road, then turn south at the big cross roads along the east side of the Heath and eventually finish at the Princess of Wales public house.

Surprisingly, there is quite a lot to see and much about which to be told.  It is the almost 200th anniversary of what is now the Blackheath Preparatory School, at No 4 St Germans Place, because a school was founded here in 1822-23. Neil hopes to get consent from the owners to go in and for the walkers to see houses from the back, the Chapel and the playing field.

Meet at 2.30pm at No 1 Shooters Hill Road. Spaces on the walk are limited so please reserve your place on Eventbrite. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/blackheath-society-walk-talk-society-historic-walk-2021-the-ne-corner-tickets-155644459769

If you need to cancel please let the office know in good time. Donations of £5 to the Society on joining the walk.
