Walk & Talk: Evening walk along the Thames

Enjoy a summer evening walk with other members. There have been many changes along the river, new arts centre and more planned, new riverside residential buildings, preservation of historic buildings, developing heritage centre and if we have time, we can see the Nike sculpture presented to London in 2012 to mark the Olympics.

Either meet at Greenwich Pier to take the 6 o’clock Greenwich Clipper downstream to Woolwich, or meet at Woolwich (Royal Arsenal) Pier at 6.30pm. (Bus 54 from Blackheath Village, alight at Woolwich station and walk through the new Riverside developments to the river.) We will then walk along the river path to Greenwich Peninsula finishing with a drink at the pub The Pilot or one of the many eateries at the Pennisula.

(Freedom Pass and Oyster cards can be used for the boat trip to obtain discounts, price approximately £4.80).

After the event …

This was a great evening. Sunny, a super boat ride and walk along the river in good company. The Pilot serves a good beer too.
